They say a nation or a civilization is like a pendulum,
Has only so high that they can soar.
Before greed and forgotten morals,
Bring them down once more.
You want to cry out and ask,
How our great civilized nation.
Is willing to spend more on war,
Than our peoples health and education.
For until our nation realizes,
That any life is a precious thing.
And faces the facts of suffering and grief,
That any war will bring.
We are all a part of this universe,
And it’s time the people knew.
You cannot take or help take a life,
Without destroying a part of you.
There are so many young people,
Because of war will never get to know.
The loving embrace of their life mates arms,
Or the way their children can bring an inner happy glow.
The facts are here and can’t be denied,
The whole world knows it’s so.
The war mongers must be voted out,
If this nation is to grow.
The truth is here for all to see,
And it’s time the people knew.
Just look back in the history of man,
At what greed and war can do.
So look at your politicians views,
Televised across the nation.
One wants to bring our soldiers home,
The other is for endless foreign occupation.
So let’s vote to end this war,
And be ready to pray.
For our countries pride and soul,
If the vote goes the other way.

- I was 79 years old the 11th of March, 2008. At the present time I am home bound due to leg problems caused by my diabetes. I'm alumni of San Jacinto College in Texas. I started my travels with a hitch in the navy at the age of 17. I am a veteran of World War II, where I spent time in Shanghi and Tsing Tao. I followed construction as a pipe fitter all over the US and later to Isfahan, Iran with my second and current wife, son and daughter. Our travels to Turkey, Italy, Spain, England, Mexico and Canada. I started as a an apprenticed and worked up to assistant Superintendent. I taught industrial blueprint reading and math, pipe fitting and pipe bending at college level. My wife and I have been married 46 years. I have 4 children, 9 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. In 2007, I started to write poetry, my current interest is political poetry, some very serious and some with a little sarchastic bent. Through the years I have found humor and sarchasm in particular to be a great ice breaker when meeting new people.

There has never been a more important time to vote. We can't have another 4 years of Bush the sequel. The world needs to know we aren't so stupid that we would vote in the same people that ruined out country and affected the entire world.
We need to get out in greater numbers to get the right wingers out who have destroyed this country. If enough of us vote, they won't get in again even with the rigged voting machines and caging lists.
